Betty,Brad & Joe : I am so sorry to learn of Hardy’s passing. He was a good friend, and a cherished classmate. The last time I talked with him was at our class reunion in park city. I sat next to him and we had a good time renewing old memories ‘ and catching up on new ones. I said HARDY, do you know what I remember most about our senior year? He said What. I said you were the only one of my classmates that signed my YEAR BOOK with a rubber stamp. He said Really!., Did I do that? I said I have my year book to prove it. I will miss seeing Hardy at our class gathering

My thoughts and prayers go out to you Betty…I want you to know that it meant a lot to Grant and I that you and Hardy were a part of our Dad’s life….
Great honor that Hardy was one of my Dad paulbearers for his funeral. Dad would always tell me stories about Hardy and just laugh.
I know they were good friends. I am thankful for spending time with you when we were in Tennesse over the last year. I loved to listen to Hardy and his wisdom with just about everything. My heart goes out to you and your family.
    God Bless you,
    Sandra

I knew Hardy through my special friend, Sammy Sawyer, now deceased. Hardy and Sammy enjoyed many good times together and always shared many stories and laughs. Sammy lived next door to his grand daughter, Chelsea, in Tullahoma at one time and they were the best of friends.
I extend my deepest sympathy to Betty and the family as they go through this very difficult time.
    God Bless You,

Hardy was a personal friend and fellow-worker, with no inhibitions about speaking his feelings and beliefs. Truly a joy and inspiration to be around. I loved him and may have loved Betty even more as she was for sure sweeter and more gentle than Hardy. My sympathies to her and to her boys, and I see even a grandchild. Brad, I suppose you are partly responsible for that. Good luck and God’s blessings on you, your wife and child. And, by the way, I do not even own a screened in porch anymore. Your might or might not be proud of my present surroundings. And tell little brother Joe that although I did not have the chance to embarrass him I would have tried if I had the chance. My best regards and prayers for all of you. Sincerely, Abbott Kemp.

Betty, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. We had alot of fun times in the old days at Crawford & Company…we were all like family. We knew we could depend on each other. I never will forget one time after I was managing the Travelers Unit , I had to go to a managers meeting in Orlando and had to fly down with Hardy and Ed Halfacre….they kept me in stitches, but made my flight alittle easier as I didn’t like flying, and they looked after me while we were there…..those were good times. Hardy will greatly be missed by the community I know. My prayers are with you and the entire family.

Tonight when we attended the Christmas Eve service at church all I could think about a service at the Mulberry Baptist Church when Hardy, John Paul, and I played the parts of the three wisemen–garbed in bathrobes and towels as headwraps. I think Sally was Mary! I have other happy memories of our lives as children in those innocent days and am thankful for our friendships. Two of the wisemen are now gone and that makes me very sad. Those were the days of innocence and good times and laid foundations of good lives for all of us. Betty, Joe, and Brad please know that I am thinking about you in these days. Sincerely, Bill Kimes
