Geraldine Carter Pitts, 92 years of age, went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2010.
Mrs. Pitts was born on September 8, 1918 in Coldwater, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. & Mrs. Alexander Carter, Sr., her husband Raymond Anderson Pitts, and her brothers William Robert “Billy Bob” Carter, Lewis Carter, and Boyd Carter. Mrs. Pitts is survived by her daughters Mary Sue Salmons (Sid) of Smyrna, TN, Carol Lynn Lambert (Ken) of Seminole, FL, Julie Ritter of Bowling Green, KY and Deborah Pitts of Fairview, TN; grandchildren, Luke Ritter of Bowling Green, KY, Holly Salmons of Smyrna, TN, Adam Ritter of Bowling Green, KY, Scott Salmons of Smyrna, TN, Clay Ritter of Bowling Green, KY and Jessica Lambert of Seminole, FL.; great grandchild, Celeste Salmons. Mrs. Pitts is also survived by sister, June Carter Miller of Murfreesboro TN.
Mrs. Pitts was born in Coldwater, TN and graduated from Lincoln County Central High School and graduated from business college in Nashville, TN. She married in 1943, Mr. and Mrs. Pitts lived in Fern Creek, KY and raised their four daughters there. Mrs. Pitts moved back to Lincoln County in 1971 after her husband passed. She was the secretary of CFW, Inc. She enjoyed family gatherings, volunteering at the Lincoln County Museum and spending time with her church family.
Pallbearers will be Luke Ritter, Adam Ritter, Clay Ritter, Scott Salmons, James Carter, David Carter and Brent Carter.
Visitation with the family will be from 5 until 8 on Monday, November 1, 2010 at Higgins Funeral Home. The service will be at 11 AM Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Fayetteville First Baptist Church, the American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
