Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. George A. Brown II, age 69, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 10 AM Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Van Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in Center Point Cemetery.  Mr. Brown passed away Sunday morning at Lincoln Medical Center.

A son of the late George A., Sr. and Louise Ferrell Brown, he was a native of Shelby County, a construction worker, and a member of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Melva Dean Brown of Fayetteville, son George A. (Butch) Brown III of Memphis, brothers Michael A. Brown of Petersburg and John A. Brown of Memphis, sisters Emily A. Satterfield of Hazel Green and Connie Campbell of Buena Vista, GA, grandchildren James Thomas and Jessica Dale Brown both of Millington, TN, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Monday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.

    This was my grandfather. I never meet him. As I get older I realize the importance of family and having good relationships with them. My grandmother was Janet who was his first wife. She married Sonny Moore who ended up being the most important man of my life. Having said that, I still wish I could have known my biological grandfather.

    This was my grandfather. I never meet him. As I get older I realize the importance of family and having good relationships with them. My grandmother was Janet who was his first wife. She married Sonny Moore who ended up being the most important man of my life. Having said that, I still wish I could have known my biological grandfather.
