Carrie Helen Raymer Waldrop Bolton, age 79, of Fayetteville, TN (formerly of Bowling Green and Smiths Grove, KY) passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at NHC Pulaski. While many knew her as a dedicated Mom and a faithful friend, her absolute pride and joy in this life was being “Granny.”
When Carrie found out her first grandbaby was being born two hours away in Fayetteville, TN, she didn’t hesitate. She put her house up for sale, packed her bags, and moved to Fayetteville to love, nurture, and spoil her grandchildren. Granny became their absolute world, and no one will ever forget the love she poured into them (or her legendary baked beans and cheesy potatoes).
Born on December 21, 1946, at the US Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, FL, Carrie was the daughter of the late Allen West Raymer and Helen Hendrick Raymer Tabor. She was a proud graduate of North Warren High School Class of 1964 and remained a life long and loyal friend to many of her classmates. For many years, she served her community in Bowling Green, KY, as a skilled insurance specialist with Bowling Green Medical Center, Greenview Regional Hospital, and the office of the retired Dr. Jonathan Baldwin.
Carrie was an avid Elvis fan, a passionate viewer of basketball and football, and most importantly a woman of deep faith. She was a member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church and former member of Christ Church Bowling Green.
Her legacy of love lives on in her children: her son, Robert Michael (Thaia) Waldrop of Bowling Green, KY; her daughter, Natalie Elizabeth (Bond) Hatcher of Fayetteville, TN; and the lights of her life, her grandchildren, Dru Hatcher and Raymer Elizabeth Hatcher. She also leaves behind in this life her sister, Cathy Tabor Rogers; nieces and nephews, Jamie Wilson, Jessie (September) Harris, Trey Rogers, Todd (Patricia) Raymer, Chad (Jennifer) Raymer, Jeff (Stephanie) Waldrop, and Todd (Felicea) Waldrop; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and special extended family members, Mary (Ron) Buck, Wayne (Kathy) Bolton, and Gene (Nancy) Bolton and their cherished families. In addition to her parents, Carrie was preceded in death by her brother, Former Bowling Green Chief of Police Gary Allen Raymer.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Christ Church Bowling Green (716 Cave Mill Rd, Bowling Green, KY 42104). Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Ministry at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, 200 Elk Ave. N., Fayetteville, TN 37334 or Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Greenwood High School, 5065 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42104.
The family extends their deepest gratitude for the exceptional and loving care provided by the dedicated Nurses, CNAs, Therapy Staff and all the employees at NHC Pulaski and Caris Hospice. Your kindness and support brought immense comfort to Carrie and her family during her final days. They are forever grateful for the love and care that was poured into Carrie until she met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
