Lonnie Loyd Counts, age 80, of Flintville, TN passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Donalson Care Center in Fayetteville, TN. He was born July 21, 1945, to the Late H.H. “Son” and Margie Counts. He was raised in the Flintville Community and worked at Arnold Air Force Base Station as an electrician for 34 years until his retirement.
He is survived by his two daughters; Angie (Randall) Stephens of Flintville, and Tammy (Jamey) Quick of Elora; step-daughter Christi (Ricky) Howell of Fayetteville; six grandchildren; Adrianna (Brett) Harris, Alisha (Jake) McNeal, Bailey (Ty) Durham, Colton Quick, Andrew (Katie) Howell, and Taylor Howell; and ten great grandchildren; Silas Stephens, Chip Harris, Mack McNeal, Eleanor Harris, Clay McNeal, Piper Durham, Lane McNeal, Miriam Harris, Boone McNeal, and Maggie Harris. He is also survived by one brother Barkley (Judy) Counts of Flintville and one sister Marie (David) Walker of Pelham, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by his wife JoDean Counts, and first wife and mother of Angie and Tammy, Brenda “Gail” Counts.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Josh Moran and Bobby Plunkett officiating. Burial will follow in Flintville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 PM until 7 PM on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Higgins Funeral Home.

To Lonnie’s family, I’m so sorry to hear about Lonnie’s passing. He was a true friend to a lot of people. He was so good to go visit the sick, I know he visited Lee V Horton a lot,his visits were comforting to him.
