Obituary

Kenneth Obran Richardson, III, age 64, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away on February 14, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Born on February 1, 1962, to the late Kenneth Obran Richardson, Jr. and Betty Jo Spray Richardson, Ken was a man who found joy in the rhythm of life—whether it was through a good song, a well-timed joke, or the roar of an engine.

A Master Technician for Howard Bentley, Ken’s hands were rarely still; he had a lifelong passion for working on cars and a reputation for excellence in his craft. When he wasn’t under a hood, he was often found on the field, sharing his love for the game as a softball coach and football referee. Above all, Ken was a devoted family man who cherished his roles as a husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Melissa Goff Richardson; his daughter, Amanda Lynn Richardson; his grandson, Jody Carson Thompson; and his sister, Jo Ellen Honey.

The family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 3 PM at McBurg United Methodist Church, 91 McBurg, Road, Frankewing, TN 38459.

Higgins Funeral Home is honored to serve the Richardson family.

So hate to hear this! Ken was the nicest guy! He did most of the work and regular maintenance on my 2003 Pontiac Vibe and I still have it! He was great at his job and you could tell he took pride in his work. Thinking of the family at this time of grief.
