A graveside service for Vern Leo Timberman, age 85, of Mulberry, TN, will be conducted Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Mulberry Cemetery with Jack Jean officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, December 18, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
A native of Middletown, Ohio, Vern was born on July 25, 1940, to the late Cyrus Donald and Sylvia Merle Kelley Timberman. He was a graduate of Sand Fork High School in West Virginia and a veteran of the United States Army. While in the Army he served as a Military Police officer at Redstone Arsenal. A man of the Baptist faith, he was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in hunting, fishing, and farming. Vern passed away on December 15, 2025, at Bailey Manor in Fayetteville.
Survivors include his children, Sharon (Kelly) McBride of the Unity Community, and Brian (Brittany) Timberman of Mulberry; grandchildren, Kelley (Nathaniel) Lay, Christina (Pete) Fears, Ashley Brown, Katie McBride, Scott McBride, Braden Timberman, and Cyrus Timberman; great-grandson, Pierce Lay; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Vern was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Faye Faulkner Timberman; son, Donald Scott Timberman; and his siblings, Eric Timberman, Shirley Luzader, Debbie Rogers, and Linda Timberman.
