On the evening of June 6, 2025, Corbin Lynn Smith gracefully received her heavenly wings. With joy in her step and light in her soul, she walked through the gates of Heaven, twirled with delight, and leapt into the loving embrace of her father, reuniting with him in eternal peace.
Born on October 28, 1991, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in Nashville, Tennessee, Corbin was the cherished daughter of Jill Manchester Smith and the late Jeffry Wayne Smith. A proud graduate of Lincoln County High School’s Class of 2011, she was also a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ.
Corbin radiated warmth and kindness, effortlessly connecting with everyone she met. Her heart was generous, her spirit vibrant, and her conversations always meaningful. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel seen, heard, and loved. Corbin found joy in the magic of Disney — a passion she was blessed to experience in person before her health declined.
Corbin passed away at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, laughter, and love. She will be deeply missed by her devoted mother, Jill Smith; her loving sister, Molly Keller Smith; and a wide circle of extended family and treasured friends who will forever hold her memory close.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 5 PM until 7 PM at Higgins Funeral Home, with a celebration of Corbin’s life to follow at 7 PM. A graveside committal service will take place on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 10 AM at Wrights Cemetery.
Higgins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Corbin Lynn Smith — a bright light who touched many lives and now shines among the stars.
I will so miss my occasional facebook messages from Corbin just to say Hello. She was a treasure for sure. She didn’t hold back her love nor her opinions. Jill and Molly, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
So sorry to hear about Corbin passing my prayers are with you and Molly 🙏🙏
Didn’t know Corbin well. Only met her a couple of times. What stood out to me was her bright smile and light-filled eyes. But I know her mom well—my sweet cousin Jill. My heart breaks for her for Jill who I know is so sad right now.
Thank God for the hope Christ gives us of eternal life with all this grief and sadness behind us. I picture Corbin in joyful reunion with her Grandpa Lowell and her Grandmother Bonnie. Probably getting to know her great uncle Homer. And of course her daddy.
I am sad to see this news. She was so fortunate to have such a wonderful mother. I know she brought you and Jeff (rest in peace) many years of joy. Stay strong Jill. Much love.
What a wonderful tribute to sweet Corbin! Though I mourn her loss and my online conversations with her, I rejoice that she is free of her physical challenges in this life. I was privileged to teach Corbin in her early years at Unity. She was so inquisitive and crafty. She often outsmarted me. She was kind and giving to others and loved by many. Run and play sweet girl. I pray for you Jill and Molly as you adjust to life without Corbin. Thank you for sharing her with me. Thanks too to Patsy for keeping me apprised of her health.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Your family is in my prayers.
