Funeral service for Doris Elaine Hicklen McAlister, age 88, of Gallatin, TN, will be held at 1 PM on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until 1 PM on Friday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Doris was born on May 4, 1936, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Clifton Eugene Hicklen and Edna Lucille Whitt Hicklen. She was a graduate of Central High School in Fayetteville. Doris enjoyed watching TN Titan Football but most of all loved her family. She was a devoted grandmother and GanGan. Doris passed away on April 18, 2025, at her residence.

Survivors include her children, Barry (Laura) McAlister of Nashville, Kim (Darryl) Manlove of White House, and Tim (Amanda) McAlister of Gallatin; grandchildren, Amanda (Dan) Howard, Heather McAlister, Tristan (Sarah) McAlister, Devin (Taylor) Manlove, Timothy McAlister, Alex (Shawna) McAlister, and Christian McAlister; and her great-grandchildren, Vella, Asher, and Oliver Howard, Emma Manlove, Charles, Brayden, Lorali, Pheobe, and Reagan McAlister.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Edward McAlisters, and a great-grandson, River King.
