Willie C. Towry

Funeral service for Mr. Willie C. Towry, age 83, of Fayetteville, will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro Don Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. Mr. Towry passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 in Huntsville Hospital. He was a native of Lincoln County, Tennessee and son of the late George Hamilton “Freddie” Towry and Emma Cowan Towry. Mr. Towry was a member of the Park City Baptist Church, owner of Towry Backhoe Service, and loved his horses and farming.

Survivors include his wife Wilma May Towry; children Jack (Pat) Towry of Fayetteville, Brenda (Marty) Harrity of Sanibell, FL, JoAnn (Larry) Haynes and Jeff Towry both of Fayetteville; ten grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Towry was preceded in death by his son Jimmie Towry and a sister Frances Henderson.

Visitation with the family will be 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home. The family of Mr. Towry would like to thank everyone who loved and cared for Mr. Towry during his illness. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Willie C Towry.

I remember when I married your nephew , you laughed and said , you sure are lucky to be in this family, I smiled and said, no you are blessed that I have came into the family, then we both laughed , sure will misshearing that .

Mr. Willie rented my husband and I our first home. He was a very happy man, always smiling.

Willie C as we all called him was a great neighbor, his farm joined the backside of ours back years ago and we all pitched in and built a new fence across the backsides where are property met. Went to school with his kids all great folks. Im proud to have known them all, he will be missed.
