William Robert “Bill” Carter, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. William Robert “Bill” Carter, Jr., age 55, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted Monday, August 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Ward and Rev. Will Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Hills Cemetery. Mr. Carter passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 in Huntsville Hospital.

Mr. Carter was a native of Lincoln County, the son of the late William Robert “Billy Bob” and Jane Strong Carter. He was the president of CFW, Inc., and a member of the Fayetteville United Methodist Church. He was a loving father and grandfather, as he was known as ‘Chief’.

Survivors include his wife Janet Eslick Carter of Fayetteville, TN, daughters Brittney Mitchell of Fayetteville, TN, Morgan (Jason) Terry of Brentwood, TN, grandchildren Addison Mitchell, Carter Ann Mitchell, Austin Mitchell all of Fayetteville, TN, brother Lex (Mary Margaret) Carter of Knoxville, TN, and sister Flo Williams of Fayetteville, TN. Along with his parents, Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his nephew Caleb Carter.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fayetteville/ Lincoln County Humane Society or the charity of your choice.

Bill was such a sweet and kind person with impeccable manners. He was loved by all who knew him. Janet, Brittney and Morgan – Flo and Lex -my heart is breaking for you. I hope you will find some comfort in our Heavenly Father. He will carry you when you feel you can’t go on. You all have been in my thoughts and prayers since I heard of Bill’s condition. Jr was my boss for 10 years. He was the best I’ve ever had. He is gonna be missed by everyone in the community and especially by his great family. Sorry for your lose Janet,Brittany and Morgan also, Lex and Flo. I pray for peace and comfort for you all.

Mr Bill you befriended me at a very difficult time in my life. When I would visit with you, with slump in my throat, you gave me hope. I shall miss you here, but there is a place prepared for those who live Jesus, as you do.
