William Bruce Stocstill

Funeral service for Mr. William Bruce Stocstill, age 85, of Nashville, will be conducted Saturday April 29, 2017 at 11 A.M. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Ross officiating. Burial to follow at Shady Grove Cemetery. Mr. Stocstill passed away April 25, 2017. A native of Lincoln County, Mr Stocstill was born on Cotton Mill Hill to the late William Thomas and Annie Mae Wells Stocstill. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp in the Black Sheep Squadron. Mr. Stocstill was also a member of Lighthouse Christian Church and the Disabled Veterans. He worked as a cable technician and also for Serbin for many years.

Survivors include his daughter Selina Desire Stocstill of Nashville, Tennessee; son Chris (Stephanie) Ferguson of Enterprise, Alabama; son/brother Jimmy Stocstill of Park City, Tennessee; sister Margret Syler of Fayetteville, Tennessee; brother George Stocstill of Athens, Alabama; grandchildren Kyle, Katie, and Alexa Ferguson; nephews Derrick and Troy Syler of Fayetteville, Tennessee; niece Wendy Syler of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and grandson Kasey Stocstill of Fayetteville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his daughter Shannon Michelle Stocstill; grandson Preston Tyler Stocstill; and brother-in-law Pat Syler.

Visitation with the family will be held Friday April 28, 2017 from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Higgins Funeral Home.

My heart is broken for such a friend to leave this world but so glad he will never have pain or sorrow anymore. RIP Bruce

My thoughts and prayers go out to each of you in your loss. Bruce was a very special person and will be greatly missed.
