William “Bill” Thomas Moffett

Graveside service for Mr. William “Bill” Thomas Moffett, age 86, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Kirkland Cemetery with Bro. Tommy Graham and Bro. Jeremy Hudgins officiating.

Mr. Moffett was born on November 4, 1931 in Lincoln County, TN to the late Thomas and Nettie McAlister Moffett. He was a hay crop farmer and a member of Kirkland Baptist Church. Mr. Moffett passed away on January 15, 2018 at Donalson Care Center.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Pitts Moffett; daughters, Diane Warren (Dennis) and Dana Sartain (Jimmy); step-son, Ricky Thompson; grandchildren, Tara Perkins (Randy), Tiffany Warren Amos, and BJ Hall (Michele); great-grandchildren, Maclae, Josie, Mackenzie, and Brodie. five step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Ruth Hampton (Bill), Nancy Wheeler (Larry), Mackey Locke, and Loyce Weir; brothers, Ray Moffett (Carolyn) and Hugh Moffett (Laura); sister-in-law, Elaine Moffett; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Moffett, and sister, Ann Norwood.

Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bobby Joe Hall Scholarship Fund at First National Bank at 405 College St W, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

We have good memories of summers playing, cooking out and Mr. Bill making the kids laugh. He would come in on that tractor for lunch-Praying for God’s comfort at this time-love you all

It was an honor to care for mr.bill at donaldson. No matter what section i had i. Always went to say hello to him first. Many memories i have that ill cherish forever. Mr. Bill was a good man always making me laugh. It was hard in the end watching you leave a little each day broke my heart. Im glad i was there that night and got to say goodbye .R.I.P. Mr Bill .my prayers for the family dana ,dia, and Hugh it was a pleasure being around yall such love i felt with yall there . GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN BILL MOFFETT.
