Funeral services for Mr. Willard Paul Brooks, age 79, of Meridianville will be conducted at 2PM Thursday afternoon at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Brandon officiating. Burial will follow in Campbell Cemetery. Mr. Brooks died Tuesday in Lincoln Care Center.
He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Henry and Susie Rudd Brooks. He was a retired truck driver, veteran of U.S. Navy and the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Brooks was a member of the Meridianville Church of Christ where he also serviced as Elder.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Sara Taylor Brooks of Meridianville, son Robert Taylor Brooks and wife Mary Jane of Tallahassee, FL, daughter Corrine Brooks Brandon and husband Tom of Hazel Green, two grandchildren Paul Brandon and wife Megan of Hazel Green and Sara Elizabeth Brandon of Hazel Green, three brothers David Brooks and wife Dot of New Market, James Brooks and wife Mildred of Albertville and Frank Brooks and wife Nell of Scottsboro, one sister Clydia Kimbrough of Fayetteville and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday from noon until 2PM at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to the Meridianville Church of Christ Costa Rico Mission Fund or Madison Academy.
