Walter Bedford Quick

Funeral service for Walter Bedford Quick, age 85, of Elora, TN, will be conducted at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Arrick officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, next to his wife, Nina Ruth Dunn Quick.

Mr. Quick was born on June 14, 1932 in Lincoln County, TN to the late Albert Alexander and Udera Hopkins Quick. He was of the Baptist Faith and worked for 40+ years as a machinist with John Blue Company. Walter was a lifelong farmer and extraordinary gardener. Mr. Quick passed away on April 28, 2018 at St. Thomas, Rutherford.

Survivors include his children, Loyd (Sharron) Quick of Fayetteville, Lary Eugene (Trina) Quick of Flintville, and Margaret (William) Marrs of Rockwood, TN; grandchildren, Bradley (Jessica) Quick, Benjamin (Cayla) Quick, Daniel (Jessica) Quick, Madison Quick, Alax (Amber) Quick, Gabriel Quick, Alex Rackard, and Amanda Quick; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, Eulus (Bettye) Quick. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Quick was preceded in death by a son, Walter David Quick.

Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Walter Bedford Quick.

I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Quick’s passing. I know he will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. Although, I did not have the honor to know him, he has left a wonderful legacy.

Mr. Quick was a fine man, Ive know him most my life. I always enjoyed being around him. My deepest sympathy goes out to my sis Sharon, Loyd and the family. He will be greatly missed.
