Funeral service for Mr. Wallace Ray Cobb, age 83, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 8, 2019, at Higgins Funeral Home with Dr. Jon Hathcock officiating. Burial will follow in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Cobb was born on September 13, 1935 in Springfield, TN to the late Joseph Rayburn and Odessa Moore Cobb. Mr. Cobb was a retired mail carrier for the United States Postal Service and a member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Jaycees. He was also a 14 year veteran of the Tennessee National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Gibson Cobb; daughter, Kathy (Jack) Parsons of Fayetteville; two sons, Mark (Susie) Cobb of Fayetteville, Charlie (Susan) Cobb of Murfreesboro; one sister, Jean Doss of Springfield, TN; seven grandchildren, Ashley (Gary) Gearhart , Robert Parsons, Rachel (Justin) Koonce, Amy Cobb, J.T. Cobb, Ben Cobb, and Audrey Cobb; and great-grandson Hunter Jackson Gearhart. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cobb was proceeded in death by two sisters, Weltha Adams and Edna Ellis; four brothers, Rayburn Cobb, Joseph Cobb, Ralph Cobb, and Charles Cobb; and one granddaughter, Julie Parsons.
Visitation with the family will be on Friday February 8, 2019 from 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm at Higgins Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-9959. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Wallace Ray Cobb.

Dear Cobb Family, I was so hurt to hear about Wallace but no one wanted him so suffer any more. We go way back and Bill and I always considered him a close friend. I have not seen Charlie in years or Kathy either, they probably do not remember us. I do get to see Mark and Family and I love them dearly. Love Miss Joyce.

The Bridge Builder
An old man, going a lone highway,

Sorry to learn about the passing of Wallace. I cherish the years we worked together at CFW and the years of friendship that followed. Wallace never shunned hard work and never ask someone to do something he would not do himself. He loved his children and grandchildren and Peggy was his beacon. Sorry to learn of the passing of Wallace. I cherish my time working with him during our CFW years. Hard worker and never ask anyone to do something he would not. Our friendship lasted many years beyond the construction years. If Peggy was his beacon his children and grandchildren were the runway. Praying you are filled with peace as God gives you strength for today and hope for tomorrow.
