Vivian Johnson Roland

It is with regret we announce the passing of Mrs. Vivian Johnson Roland, age 73, of Kelso, TN. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1 pm to 3 pm on Saturday at Higgins.

Mrs. Roland was born June 30, 1948, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Elvin and Delia Mae Tucker Johnson. She retired from Fayetteville Parks and Recreation, was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and enjoyed a simple, quiet life with her family. Vivian passed away June 9, 2022, at her residence.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Billy Roland of Fayetteville; daughter, Connie (Gary) Mullins of Kelso; son, Charles (Sarah) Fowler, Jr. of Winchester; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Jones of Florida, Margaret Koonce of Howell Hill, Judy Schmidt of Elora, Martha Medley of Fayetteville, Darlene Allen of Corders Crossroads, and Janice Rebecca Pierce of Corders Crossroads; brothers, Terry Joe Johnson and David Johnson both of Kelso. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lee Earl Johnson and Elvin Johnson, Jr.; and one great-grandchild.

I am so sorry to learn of Mrs. Roland’s passing. I interacted with her at Fayetteville Parks and Recreation many times while working on projects as a volunteer. I’m sure Billy will miss her. Prayers lifted for God’s comfort.
