Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Mills Stevenson, age 83, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2PM Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Gay officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery beside her husband Alvie Lee Stevenson who died in 2005. Mrs. Stevenson passed away Sunday January 18th in Lincoln Skilled Care Center.
She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late W. J. and Callie Milstead Mills Sr. She was a homemaker a member of the Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sisters Lila Mills Logan of Fayetteville, Clady Mills Robertson and husband Charles of Birmingham, AL, Janice Mills Zielinski and husband Jim of Huntsville, AL, brothers Richard G. Mills and wife Virginia of Estill Springs and Dan R. Mills and wife Priscilla of Fayetteville, sisters-in-law Opal Mills, Jean Mills and Ruth Key all of Fayetteville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nieces and nephews of Mrs. Stevenson will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. She was preceded in death by brothers W. J. Mills, Jr and Benny Douglas Mills Sr.
Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Monday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.
