Funeral services for Vida May “Bobbie” Laurenzi, age 90 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Wednesday July 15, 2015 at 7 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Moore officiating. Burial will follow on Thursday July 16, 2015 at 2 PM at Memphis Memory Gardens in Memphis. Mrs. Laurenzi passed away Sunday July 12, 2015 at The Bridge at Monteagle Nursing Home.
She was a native of Plummerville, Ark, and the daughter of the late John H. and Izora Jones McCullough. She was a retired teacher and a member of the First Methodist Church.
She is survived by nephew Don A. Miller and wife Margie of Ooltewah, TN, nieces Charlene Williams and husband Sam of Morriton, AR and Casandra Fredricks and husband Ben of Bartow, FL, special friends and caregivers Danny Moore and wife Angie of Fayetteville, and Daphne McNeal, and a host of other special friends Edith Ivey, Virginia Steelman, Carol Durham, Ms. Finney, Phyllis Johnson, Norma and Glenn King.
She was preceded in death her husband Romolo Laurenzi, nephew David Bostian, nine sisters and one brother. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday July 15, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

AUNT BOBBYE WAS A WONDERFUL LADY AND A GREAT AUNT!!!!!. I ALWAYS LOVED BEING AROUND HER. SHE WAS JUST SO MUCH FUN. SHE HAD A ONE OF A KIND LAUGH, AND COULD MAKE THE BEST SPAGHETTI!!!!! SHE LOVED MY MOTHER SO MUCH.. SHE HELPED MY GRANDMOTHER RAISE MY MOTHER THROUGH THE YEARS. FOR THIS REASON, I ALWAYS HAD SUCH GREAT ADMIRATION FOR AUNT BOBBYE. SHE IS ONE REASON MY MOTHER IS THE GODLY WOMAN SHE IS TODAY. AUNT BOBBYE LOVED HER FAMILY AND HER HOME TOWN OF PLUMMERVILLE, AR. HAVING ONLY ONE BROTHER AND 9 SISTERS, IT WAS A BUSY HOME TO GROW UP IN. BECAUSE OF HER EXTENDED ILLNESS, SHE HAS ALREADY BEEN MISSED BY HER FAMILY. HEAVEN IS TRULY A SWEETER PLACE!!!!!! WE LOVE YOU AUNT BOBBYE!!!!!

My condolences to Bobbye’s family. I am a friend of hers from ST. Anthony’s Church. My friend Frankie Siba and I often visited her.
She really enjoyed seeing us and we always had a good visit. She always sent me the funniest birthday card every year while she was able.
I did enjoy being her friend very much. I wish now I had visited her more of late.

Mrs. Laurenzi was my fourth grade teacher at Walnut Grove Jr. High School. Of all of the teachers that I had over the years, I remember Mrs. Laurenzi the most. She was a wonderful, inspiring teacher! She asked me to help her at the school during one of the teacher in-service days and she gave me a birthstone necklace as a thank-you gift. I have always treasured that necklace and I still have it. I reconnected with her after I heard her voice behind me one morning when I was having breakfast in the dining room at Hardees with my young daughter. It had been many, many years but I recognized that voice! I reintroduced myself & she met my daughter. We kept in touch through Christmas cards and phone calls, and I was privileged to enjoy a few visits with her. Once I took her to Huntsville to meet another former classmate for lunch. Another time my husband and I went by her home to see her, and he met her for the first time. He was charmed by her lovely, funny personality! Knowing Mrs. Laurenzi has made me a better person. Her family will surely miss her. Yes, Heaven is truly a sweeter place! My condolences to her family. I will be there to help you say goodbye…..

Aunt Bobbye,
I am so sad to hear of your passing. I called you home in late June, but got no answer. I have so many special memories of your garden, cooking in your kitchen & your loving teasing. Say hello to Mom (Fran), Dad (Mike) & Uncle Rom. Love you & miss you!
