Mr. Tony Ray Tipps, age 69, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Tipps was born on January 18, 1952 in Lincoln Co., TN to the late Carl Milton and Ruby Ellen Winsett Tipps.
Tony was a graduate of Lincoln County High School Class of 1970 and he earned his Mechanical Engineer degree from the University Alabama Huntsville. Mr. Tipps started his career working for Marshall Space Flight Center building models for the U.S. Space and Rocket Center before starting at Micro Craft, in Tullahoma, TN, where he retired in 2017 after 30 years as an mechanical engineer and designer. Tony was of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include his son, Nigel (Jennifer) Tipps of Fayetteville; brothers, Michael Tipps of Lynchburg, and Tim (Mary Jo) Tipps of Chapel Hill; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Riverview Memorial Gardens. Family and close friends will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Casey Tipps, TJ Tipps, Travis Tipps, Brody Tipps, Sam Williams, and Luke Williams.
