Funeral service for Mr. Thomas William Towry, age 93, of Fayetteville, TN will be held Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 2:30 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Gay officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery.
Thomas was born on April 30, 1924 in Lincoln County to the late Ferrell and Ethel Towry. On September 7, 1946 he married the former Sue Fanning. He worked as a farmer and was a member of Prospect Baptist Church. Mr. Towry passed away on November 3, 2017 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Sue Towry; children, Linda (Jerry) Brown, Helen Towry, and Rex (Elisa) Towry; grandchildren, Renee (Keith) Blackburn, and Stanley Brown; great-grandchildren, Joshua Blackburn, Jeremy Brown, Carissa (Christopher) Harris, and Lindsay Blackburn; sister, Magaline Simmons; and nephew, Phillip (Faye) Simmons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Colyar Simmons, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be held Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 1:30 PM until time of service at 2:30 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

Sue, Linda, Helen, Rex and the rest of the family, Thomas was a true treasure and my heart hurts for all of you as you bid him an earthly farewell. Your sweet memories of the good times will brighten your days, in time, until you are together forever. Know that I love you all very much.
