Thomas Shelton Honey

Funeral service for Mr. Thomas Shelton Honey, age 95, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 2 PM on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Black and Neil Honey officiating. Burial will follow next to his wife, Pauline Brown Honey, in Kelso Cemetery.

Mr. Honey was born on February 13, 1923 in Kelso, TN to the late Rob Carroll and Ola Mae Reynolds Honey. He graduated from Flintville High School. He later served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a paint chemist quality control specialist at Caldwell Chemical Coatings and was a member of Washington Street Church of Christ. Mr. Honey passed away on July 30, 2018 at Donalson Care Center.

Survivors include his son, Anthony (Kay) Honey of Lynchburg, TN; daughter, Rhonda (Randy) Wilbanks of Park City, TN; grandchildren, Robyn (Paul) Fletcher, Neil (Julie) Honey, Wesley (Kelly) Wilbanks, and Zachary (Erica) Wilbanks; great-grandchildren, Ben Fletcher, Maecy Fletcher, Katy Fletcher, Rylee Kay Honey, Livvy Honey, Caiden Wilbanks, and Baylin Wilbanks; and special friend, Eldora Blackwelder. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, J.D., Knox, Robert, and Henry Honey, and sisters, Alease Harrington and Daisy Wells.

Visitation with the family will be held at 5 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Thomas Shelton Honey.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Honey’s passing. I loved him and enjoyed taking care of his hair and beard while I was in the salon. My sympathy to all his family.

Anthony, We enjoyed Mr. Honey’s visits at the Wednesday night singings at Donalson. He was popular with his fellow residents in assisted care. They worried about him and always encouraged him to go. He was a fine gentleman and will be missed greatly.

Rhonda, I’m so very sorry about your Dad. He sure was a very nice man, and know you and family will miss his sweet, kind, and loving personality. Sure thought a lot of Mr. Honey. Prayers for comfort to all during this loss.

Anthony, so sorry to hear of your dad passing. He was a sweet man. You were a good son to go visit him every day. I can still see him sitting playing bingo. Prayers for you and your family.

Cousins, Anthony and Rhonda,
I”m sorry to hear of Uncle Thomas’s passing. I have fond memories of our childhoods with you and Uncle Thomas. My brother Gerald Knox Honey died a year ago today. I miss them both.
