Thomas Richard Pirtle

Graveside service for Mr. Thomas Richard Pirtle age 93, of Fayetteville, will be conducted Tuesday March 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Stateline Cemetery, with Dr. Ronnie Gay officiating. Mr. Pirtle passed away Saturday evening February 28, 2015 at Donalson Care Center.
A native of Madison County, AL. Mr. Pirtle was the son of the late Orville and Cloei Allen Pirtle and Hattie Whitt Pirle. Mr. Pirtle was a painter and served in US Army during WWII, and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his daughter Kathy (Fred) Means of Columbia; sons Tommy Pirtle of Fayetteville, Eddie (Darlene) Pirtle of Elora, Allen (Gayle) Pirtle of Fayetteville; Brother Cecil Pirtle of Huntsville, AL; sister Pauline Watson of Lewisburg, TN; 11 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Mr. Pirtle was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lee Arnold Pirtle who passed away in 1988; a son Danny Pirtle; two grandchildren; and a sister Dean Scott.
Higgins Funeral Home is assisting the family of Mr. Thomas Richard Pirtle.

My family lost a great man that loved God his family and his country. I will always remember his soft spoken voice and that smile every time you seen him. He is home now with the lord he loved no more pain and no more suffering. Love you Grandaddy I couldn’t have had a better one!

My sincere condolences at the loss of your family Patriarch. All of you have been blessed to have him for so long. You have taken such good care of him for many years, and now he is in the care of our Lord where there is no more pain and suffering. Remembering you all in the days to come.

I had the pleasure of getting to know M.r Pirtle and will never forget the way his smile would make his eyes even twinkle.
I pray for peace and comfort for the entire Pirtle Family. What a great, kind, Godly man.
