Tate Tuten

A life celebration for Tate Denham Tuten, age 17, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 11 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Fayetteville First Presbyterian Church (in the Gym) with Bro. Tony Billions and Bro. Bruce McVey officiating. Burial will follow in the Booneville Cemetery.

Tate was born on June 12, 2002 in Tampa, FL to Gary Kevin and Christine Robin Bevell Tuten. He was a senior at Fayetteville City High School and played as #4 on the soccer team, and #12 on the undefeated football team. Tate was very outgoing and loved spending time with his friends. He enjoyed being on the water, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church and attended youth group at Fayetteville First Presbyterian Church. Tate passed away on October 5, 2019.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his sister, Erin Lee Tuten; paternal grandfather, Gary Tuten; maternal grandmother, Terri Jordan; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Tate was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Ruth McDonald and her husband the late Terry, and maternal grandfather, Larry Bevell.

Visitation with the family will be from 3 PM until 7 PM on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Tate Denham Tuten.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tate Tuten Memorial Scholarship Fund, PO BOX 297, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

Tate forever placed a memory in the hearts of those who knew him. He always had a smile and made people laugh. Christine and Kevin, I know you were so proud of him and what a good, young man he was. Tate made a BIG impact on my daughter the first year they met at NGA. When I met him I seen why. He was such a joyous person, he could always make a person smile. He will be missed. Praying for his sweet family, I am so sorry for your loss,

Tate was An awesome friend and a hard working teammate. We made memories that will stay in my heart, and mind forever. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He will be missed by all the FHS football team. Prayers for his family and himself are sent out non stop. He will always be a tiger.

I remember always staying over when we were younger. We were all so young and wild and crazy. I will forever cherish those moments of you being so young and careless and full of life! I wish I could of seen you grow into the young men i met back last year at the dance. You had such a bright future ahead of you but God has now gained another beautiful angel!! Tate was a sweet young boy the last time I saw him at your house back in July 2011 when we came for the Bevell Family Reunion. He grew to be a fine young man. I never really got the chance to know Tate on a deeper level, but from what I’ve seen and heard he was an amazing young man, and he will always be in our prayers and memories to come. He will forever live on in our hearts.

Our family is praying for you all daily. We can not imagine your pain. We saw Tate at the fair a few weeks ago and he made sure that he said hello and greeted us all with his smile. One, I myself, will NEVER forget. The times we shared (always laughing) at the softball games with be cherished!!! He was an amazing human being and we loved him so!! Tate was an amazing person. He will forever have a place in my heart… I will cherish all of our hilarious memories we shared together. There was never a dull moment while Tate was around. Tate impacted everyone’s lives all the way down to the freshman up to the seniors he was always smiling and a great person in general. Christine, Family, and Friends of Tate,
When I met Tate on the first day of school this year, I knew he was such a special young man. He was so very polite and smiled the entire time we talked. I was so impressed every time I saw him.
I am praying for all of you. You have my most heartfelt sympathy. You all will be in our prayers now and in the future as we miss Tate in our lives. May we all find peace and trust in God’s plan. My heart aches for you, llour Fayetteville City Schools family and our community.
