Sybil H. Higgs

Funeral service for Mrs. Sybil H. Higgs, age 89, of Fayetteville, will be conducted Monday, November 18, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wright’s Cemetery beside her late husband James M. Higgs. Mrs. Higgs passed away Friday evening in St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

Mrs. Higgs was a native of Giles County, the daughter of the late Willie B. and Maude Burns Holley. She was a bank officer and a member of the Bradshaw Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son Jimmy Wade Higgs and wife Norma of Fayetteville, daughter JoAnn Thomas and husband Bobby Joe of Fayetteville, grandchildren Melissa Higgs Dorminey and husband Devin of Creedmore, NC, Alan Wade Higgs and wife Teresa, Lori Thomas Groce and husband J.J., Joey Thomas and wife Stephanie all of Fayetteville, TN, 9 great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, Mrs. Higgs was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Visitation with the family will be Monday from 12 until 2 pm at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bradshaw Cemetery fund or Wright’s Cemetery.

Lori, I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother. Mrs. Sybil was always so sweet when she called me for assistance at work. I’ll have to tell you the remote control story sometime.

I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother. Mrs. Sybil was always very sweet to me when she’d call in to work for some assistance. I’ll have to tell you the remote control story one day. 🙂

Jimmy, Norma, JoAnn, Bobby we are saddened to learn of the death of your dear mother. Sybil was a very sweet person and she will be missed by all of us that knew her through the years. You are in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time.

JoAnn, Wade and family. I am so sorry for the loss of Aunt Sib. She was such a kind and loving person. I was able to talk with her last week. I am thankful for those last words that we were able to share. I’ll not forget her and the love that she shared with us all. I am sending prayers for you in this difficult time. Brian Smith on I was in Raleigh visiting old fridnes. We had a decent dinner there during Raleigh’s Dining out week. The food is good, … on The Well at Five Points is re-opening on August 30th.deb in raleigh on North Raleigh really needed Sola Cafe! It’s clean and homey and get the TANGERINE AND GINGER ICED TEA.
