Suzanne Dews Benjamin

Graveside service for Mrs. Suzanne Dews Benjamin, age 76, of Fayetteville will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday, June 12, 2017 at Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Phillip Eady officiating. Mrs. Benjamin passed away June 10, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Benjamin was a native of Decatur, AL and daughter of the late Ira Guy Dews and Frances Ellen Barnes Dews. She was a beautiful pianist, earned her Bachelor’s Degree in music from the University of Alabama, and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years Charles Edwin Benjamin; son Charles Thomas (Kathy) Benjamin of Murfreesboro; daughters Carol (Joe) Tucker and Mary Elizabeth Benjamin both of Fayetteville; grandchildren Anna Benjamin, Ethan Tucker, and Adam Tucker; and sisters Frances Dews Culbert and Carolyn Dews Keech both of Guntersville, AL.

There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Suzanne Dews Benjamin.

Suzanne was a thoughtful, intelligent and lovely lady, who inspired my children to love, appreciate and respect music- a great gift to them. Our utmost respects to her family, at this sad time.
