Funeral services for Mrs. Susie Naomi Monks Hopkins, age 96, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 3PM Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Langford and Rev. Charles George officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens beside her husband Elgie Hopkins who died in 1994. Mrs. Hopkins died Thursday in Lincoln Medical Center.
She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late John Thomas and Lora King Monks. Mrs. Hopkins was a homemaker and a member of the Kirkland Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Nell Hone and Carolyn Robinson both of Fayetteville and one son Trent Hopkins of Athens, AL, 6 grandchildren, 7 great and 5 great-great grandchildren, one sister Alda Hurt of Fayetteville and one brother J. T. Monks of Fayetteville. She was preceeded in death by three brothers P.E., Diemer and Russell Monks and grandson Greg Robinson.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
