Sue Fanning

It is with regret we announce the passing of Mrs. Elsie Sue Fanning, age 80, of New Market, AL. Mrs. Fanning was born on December 24, 1939 in Plevna, AL to the late Lester Dee and Susie Lois Ricketts Scivally. She passed away on April 19, 2020 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Survivors include her son, Eddie (Renee) Fanning; daughter, Lora (Rickey) Cole; grandchildren, Morgan Cole, Will (Kayla) Cole, Jessie Cole, and Andrew Cole; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Bailey, Raegan Cole, Riley Cole, and Braxton Cole; sisters, Betty Jacks, Ann Owens, and Gale Scott; brother, Tommy Scivally; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, James Delano Fanning in 2016; daughter, Patty Fanning; and sister, Nancy Lampe.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will be no public gathering at this time. A private family service will be held with Bro. Gene Fanning officiating and burial in the Miller Cemetery. The family invites you to share memories at higginsfh.com.

Eddie & Lora–so sorry for the loss of your mom–she was a very sweet person with a lot of talent-there is going to be a big hole left in your hearts that only time will heal–may the lord give you all solace as you go thru this tragic time–love you all
