Stanley Todd Reese

Funeral service for Mr. Stanley Todd Reese, age 53 of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 8th, 2020 at Higgins Funeral Home with Chad Hancock and Earl Campbell officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until time of service on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Higgins Funeral Home.

Todd was born on March 6, 1967 in Lincoln County, TN to Mary Ellon Reese Mullins and the late Jimmy Evan Reese. He loved FISHING, Vanderbilt sports, hunting, cooking, and especially playing with his grand-babies. He was a licensed surveyor who owned and operated Reese Land Surveying in Lewisburg, TN. He was the starting center of the 1982 Falcon Football State Championship team. Todd and his wife, Cindy had been married 34 years. Todd passed away doing a selfless act on July 29, 2020 in Florida.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Cindy Dee Gordon Reese; children, Jonathon David (Maggie) Reese and Kaitlyn Lauren Reese; grandchildren, Layna Claire Reese and Callen James Reese; mother and step father, Mary Ellon (Billy) Mullins; sisters, Sharon (Bill) Cunningham and Kelly Reese; brother, Ritchie Reese; mother in law, Faye Gordon; brother in laws, David (Tonya) Gordon and Jerry (Earlene) Gordon; sister in law, Wendy (Mark) Collins and a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Todd was preceded in death by his father Jimmy Evan Reese and father in law JD Gordon.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a memorial account at the Bank of Lincoln County to assist his family with final expenses.

Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Stanley Todd Reese.

In accordance with State of Tennessee Executive Order issued by Governor Bill Lee, social gatherings are limited to no more than 50 participants. It is heartbreaking to hear of Todd’s passing. No matter how long ago it has been, the loss of one of my ‘students’ hurts to the core. I am praying for the family. In my mind, I still see Todd and Cindy at 18, and I am sending my love to Cindy, the children and all of you mourning this day.

My heart broke to hear of this, Met Todd through some work he did for me and enjoyed our conversations on anything outdoors. Words cannot help nor alleviate the pain you all must have, yet our hearts are with you. From day one there was never a finer guy than Todd! The guy was always a mellow fun loving guy and was good to anyone who knew him. This is certainly heart wrenching but just as he did on earth – Todd will Triumph on the other side!

Cindy, Jonathan, and Lauren, I am so , so sorry to hear of your loss. I always remember him most when I coached Lauren at NGA and him always telling me to do what it took to make her better and if I ever needed anything he would be glad to help. He was such a wonderful man and one we are all very proud to have known. Know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Cindy, Jonathon and Lauren. We can’t express how sorry we are for your loss. We got to know your family through L.C. baseball. We saw how dedicated Todd was to the kid’s sports and family. He was always a nice man with a big smile on his face. There was no doubt how much he loved his family. He did such a selfless act. He definitely received a star in his crown when he went to heaven. I considered him a real friend. We fished together several times. I’ll miss seeing him at the lake and at the outback. I wish there was something I could do fo all the family. He will be missed.

Cindy , I just saw Todd in June. He was gathering groceries using a list and marking it off as he went. I remember thinking that you probably made that list for him. He was always kind and polite. We are offering our condolences to you and your family.
