Shirley D. Kimbrough

A memorial service for Shirley D. Kimbrough, age 80, of Flintville, TN will be held at 1pm on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Wood and Reverend Bobby White officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 11am to 1pm on Saturday at Higgins.

Shirley was born March 2, 1943, in the Vanntown community of Lincoln County, TN to the late Matthew Greenville and Lillian O’Dell Gardner Kimbrough. She worked as a secretary for many years and retired from Northrop Grumman, and she also studied cosmetology. Shirley was very family oriented and a wonderful sister and aunt. She enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. Shirley passed away after a lengthy illness at her home, surrounded by her family.

Survivors include her brother, Stan Kimbrough; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; as well as her beloved dog, Lady. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Dickie” Bolles; and siblings, Kathleen Walker, Charleen Davis, James Kimbrough, Billy Kimbrough, and Bobbie Kimbrough.

Memorial donations may be made to the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Animal Shelter, 1718 Pulaski Highway, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

I have so many memories of Shirley, all good ones too. She was precious to me and I know she’ll be missed.

I will always remember Shirley for her beautiful smile and warm hugs. She suffered SO much and God BLESSED Shirley by taking her home. I will miss her so much. I love you, Shirley.

So sorry to hear this. My husband and I bought Bobbie’s house on Oliver Smith Rd. Shirley and her were living together at the time.
