As much as my heart is breaking, I can’t imagine the ache in the hearts of Scotties family. A family he loved with his whole being. I will miss this proud soldier, his smile and our long talks. He touched everybody he met in a way like no other.

I only knew Scott from Doha. never saw him without a beard, or a smile. He was fun and generous, opening his home to all. We bonded as Southerners in a strange land. My thoughts go to Scott’s family, so glad to see there’s many of them. You helped make him who he was – a decent guy and a proud American. Thank you all, share your love now.

My heart is deeply saddened by this news. I worked with Scott in Afghanistan. He was a good man, hard worker, and a great friend. My sincerest condolences to his family and fellow friends. Scott touched many lives and he will never be forgotten. “I’ll miss you buddy”, “I’ll see you again some day”!

Scott was one of those extraordinary people that everyone liked. He was kind to everyone and I did not see him without a smile. Many students pass through your doors when you are a teacher but some will be with you forever, Scott is one of those special few. I loved him. Just as he protected this country, he will be a protector in heaven. Your loss is felt by so many because so many loved him. I am so deeply sorry.

People don’t always see the tears a DAD cries. Greg I know your heart is broken, your beloved son died way too soon. I know you will hold it together and try to be strong, even though your whole world’s gone wrong. A piece of your heart has been ripped away and things will no longer be the same. I know you’ll let the pain out when your alone and your tears will come like pouring rain. Your whole world has crashed in all around you, you will search for answers and none will be found. Just know that GOD is near and there is a purpose for his plan. Remember all the great times with Scotty and keep him alive in your heart till ya’ll meet again. May God comfort you at this time.

Genia, I am still in shock over this heartbreaking news. I have such fond memories of little Scotty playing with Morgan when they were small…….seems like yesterday. I am sending my deepest condolences, along with hugs and prayers your way. May God bless you and your family at this difficult time. What a fine young man you raised! I love you, Genia….Take care of yourself!

I apologize for being late to add my thoughts. I have opened this website a couple of times and closed it not knowing what to say. I worked with Scott in Doha and considered him a brother and a friend. What has been said about his generosity and his wonderful friendly nature is what I knew him to be as well. I was looking forward to some time together with him when I got back home. I will miss him. May he rest in peace.
