Funeral service for Sandra Flatt Stout, age 79, of Fayetteville, TN will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Jean officiating. Burial will follow in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM on Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home.
Sandra was born on January 6, 1947, and grew up in the town of Gainsboro, TN. She was the daughter of Mitchell and Betty Cobb Flatt and belonged to the Highland Independent Church. Sandra dedicated more than 40 years to teaching English, ultimately retiring from Lincoln County High School. Alongside her late husband, Buddy, she remained a lifelong supporter and fan of Lincoln County Falcon sports. Sandra passed away on September 13, 2026, at Donalson Care Center.
Survivors include her sons, Scotty (Rebecca) Stout, Mark (Allison) Stout, and Bradley (Ashley) Stout; grandchildren, Abby, Hannah, Cooper and Emery Stout; and a sister, Frankie Wilson. In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Dale Stout; and a sister, Pamela Montgomery.

Sandra was a good friend in high school and college. She came from a wonderful and respected family. So sorry she’s gone; however, she is at peace.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Mrs.Sandra was one of the best pianist. My favorite memory of her will always be hearing her play Church in the Wildwood, something I can still hear and see today. She was a sweet lady and a very close friend to my grandparents and family.

Im so sorry for your loss. I always loved Mrs Stout as my 10th grade English teacher. She was such a nice and kind lady. Sending love and prayers to her family.

So sorry to hear of Sandra’s passing. I always enjoyed her when I was at LCHS
