Graveside services for Mrs. Jean Ruth Locker Hicks, age 88, of Knoxville, formerly of Fayetteville, will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:30 P.M. at Stewart’s Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at Higgins Funeral Home.
A native of Lincoln County, Mrs. Hicks was the daughter of the late Ernest Claude and Beulah Lucile Corder Locker and the widow of E. L. “Bill” Hicks. She was an avid gardener, loved sewing and her cats. Mrs. Hicks was a long time member of the Laurel Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sister: Nancy Taylor of Nashville and brother: Jerry Locker of Fayetteville, her dearest friends who were her family Judy Judd, Doug Embler, Pat Rowan and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by sisters: Juell Franklin and Rebecca “Becky” Carter and brothers: Ernest Locker, Jr., Bobby F. Locker and Jim C. Locker.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ijam’s Nature Center, 2915 Island Home Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37920.
