My uncle had a tremendous sense of humor, and could tell a great story. When he was younger, before much of his troubles set in to make life at times a bit tumultuous, he was very fun-loving. I have an image of him water-skiing at Tim’s Ford. He let go of the tow line, waved to everybody and then with a silly grin, pinched his nose, bounced over the the boat’s rippling wake on one water ski until he splashed down. It was comical. I was a little girl at the time, but I remember laughing and thinking he hung the moon.

To all of Russell’s family; my condolences & prayers are with you. I’m very sorry for your loss. I last saw Russell at my mom’s funeral back in 2011. During my grade school & high school days, Russell & I were like brothers; we spent many days, many summers on the lake skiing & boating, we rode motorcycles together & were the best of friends. I lost touch with him after I left home & went to college. I am sad to hear of his passing.

We write to express our sincere condolences with you and your family during this your time of grief. We pray you may have strength in the days ahead. May this scripture bring you hope and comfort during this time as it did our family. Isaiah 26:19 “Your dead will live. My corpses will rise up. Awake and shout joyfully, You residents in the dust! For your dew is as the dew of the morning, And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life.” That’s our loving God’s promise.
