Roger Dale Pigg

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Roger Dale Pigg, age 66, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted at 2 PM on Saturday, February, 23, 2019 at Maranatha Baptist Church with Bro. Rickey Hamilton and Bro. Randy Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Pigg was born on June 1, 1952 in Madison County, AL to the late Clarence Pigg and Donia Lindsey Bell. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL where he attended faithfully and loved the Lord. He was a devoted husband and father to Sammie and Tanya whom he loved dearly and always took care of. He also loved Alabama Football. He worked as the dairy/frozen foods manager at Lucky’s Supermarket. He enjoyed doing yard work, riding his lawn mower and helping neighbors with chores. He always enjoyed his outings with his family. Mr. Pigg passed away on February 14, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was a kind man who will be missed.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sammie Kay Parks Pigg; daughter, Tanya Lee Pigg; grandchildren, Kelsey Collings, Cody Sumners, and Dakota Williams; sisters, Judy (Ron) Simmons and Clara Brown; brothers, Jerry (Liz) Pigg,Clarence Pigg, Jr., and Goldie (Jean) Pigg; and special friends, Kurt Kyzer and Raybon “Shorty” Hunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Erskin Pigg; sisters, Berdie Marie Pigg, Juanita Satterfield, and Katie Shelton; half brother, Earl Clutts; half sisters, Ruby Mitchell and Juney Barnett; and beloved father and mother-in-law, JW and Opal Parks.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 5 PM until 8 PM at Maranatha Baptist Church. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Pigg.

Sammie and family, our hearts go out to you all . So sorry that Roger and Bud could not have connected, bud has been so sick with this cancer . He wanted to be there so bad with his long time friend.
