Robert T. Mason

     

Funeral services for Mr. Robert T. “Bob” Mason, age 92, of Fayetteville, will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Van Johnson and Rev. Billy Langford officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.  Mr. Mason died Sunday evening at NHC Scott Healthcare in Lawrenceburg.     

     A native of Flintville, TN, he was the son of the late James Robert and Mary Regina Yost Mason. Mr. Mason was member of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church serving an active role in teaching Sunday School and serving on various committees. He was a charter member of the Local Gideon Camp, was a Rotarian for 24 years, was the owner of Builders Supply Company and Home Builders, Inc and served for several years on the Tennessee Board of Housing and Development. He served on numerous boards; Fayetteville Electric System, Water and Sewer, City and County Industrial Board and Avalon Dairies. He served 23 years on the board of Lincoln County Bank. Mr. Mason served several years as President of Fayetteville First Federal Savings and Loan and was a board member for 41 years. He served in the United States Army during World War II.      

     Survivors include daughter Jane Jennings and husband Danny G. of Lawrenceburg, grandchildren Robert Wilder Mason and wife Amanda, Melissa Jennings Nimon and husband Wesley, John Mason Jennings and wife May, Pam Mason Jenkins and husband Shannon, Laura Jennings McCall and husband Travis, and Janie Jennings Becker and husband Ben, eleven great-grandchildren, sister Mary Lillian Mason Winsbro of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and sister-in-law Kathryn Tribble Mason of Virginia Beach, Virginia.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Ethel Jacks Mason, sons Robert Morris Mason and Lowell Mason, daughter-in-law Faye Patterson Mason, brothers Yost Mullikin and Captain James Moody Mason, and sister Ruth Mason Wheeler.  

     Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.
