Robert Steven “Goat” Gardner

Funeral service for Robert Steven “Goat” Gardner, age 52, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted Monday, July 17, 2017, at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Howard Riddle, Bro. Eddie Graves, and Bro. Shawn Lewis officiating. Burial to follow in Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Mr. Gardner passed away July 14, 2017 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Steve, a native of Lincoln County, TN, was the son of Patricia Louise Gardner and the late Robert Lee Gardner. He was a jack of all trades and a hard worker in everything he did.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Lynn Blevins Gardner; daughter, Heather (Tony) Forshee; sons, Jason Lane, Chris (Nicole) Lane, Damion Lane, and Matt (Miriam) Lane; sisters, Dewanna (Curt) Comer and Christi Gardner; grandchildren, Zachary and Kaleb Christie, Emma Claire Lane, and Monroe Nelms; nieces, Hannah (Daniel) Varian and Jessica Salisbury; nephew, Jacob Salisbury; mother-in-law, Frances Irene Blevins; second mother and special friend, Jean Locker; and his dog Turtle.

Visitation with the family will be held Sunday, July 16, 2017, at 5 until 8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Gardner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Fairview Fellowship Church at 3 Hughey Rd Fayetteville, TN 37334.

I always enjoyed my conversations with Steve. Luckily, I had a long visit from him just before his last foot surgery. I will remember him fondly as a good friend, husband and Dad. He sure loved his family and expressed that without hesitation.
