Funeral services for Robert Edward Fitch, age 62 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Sunday at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Don Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery beside his wife Marsha “Susie” Fitch who passed away in 2010. Mr. Fitch passed away Friday morning in Donalson Care Center.
Mr. Fitch was a native of Lincoln County and was the son of the late Ernest and Doris Bishop Fitch. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and the Marines, was a retired Chief Deputy from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department and was a member of the Park City Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons Shawn Fitch of Fayetteville, Patrick Fitch (Amy) of Taft, Matthew Fitch (Ashley) of Taft, step-son Tommy Howell (Theresa) of Fayetteville, step-daughter Glenda Wright (Richard) of Fayetteville, grandchildren Bud Fitch, Dakota Fitch, Makinley Fitch, Briley Fitch, Kelby Fitch, Eli Fitch, step-grandchildren Lauren Wright, Randall Howell and Christy Howell, brothers and sisters Butch Fitch (Tonya) of Fayetteville, Brenda Gray (Art) of Taft, Betty Greenhaw (David) of Hazel Green, Alabama, Ricky Fitch (Gail) of Taft, Donnie Fitch (Barb) of Fayetteville and former daughter-in-law Candy Fitch of Fayetteville.
He was preceded in death by a sister Sandra Smartt and brother Jerry Fitch.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home

So sorry to hear of your loss. I enjoyed working with Bobby when he was with the Fayetteville Police Department and I was on the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. What a nice man – I have many fond memories of our service together on behalf of the city.
