Graveside services for Richard Vincent Wright, age 57 of Rockvale, TN formerly of Fayetteville, will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Flintville Cemetery with Rev. Billy Langford officiating. Higgins Funeral Home is in charge of services. Mr. Wright passed away Tuesday at Stone Ridge Medical Center.
A native of Lincoln County he was the son of the Richard Galen Wright and Sarah Elizabeth Russell. He was employed by A.C. Plus Heating and Air Conditioning and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter Melissa Wright of Huntsville, two sons Robbie and Randy Smith both of Fayetteville, sister Kellei Wright of Fayetteville, and a special friend Diana Parrinello of Rockvale, TN. He was preceded in death by two brothers James Ronald Caldwell and Timothy Galen Wright.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 pm at Higgins Funeral Home.

I’ll always remember the good times I had with Vince beginning in high school. We, along with others from Flintville, like Jimmy Gipson, the Halcomb boys, and others had a lot of fun playing poker, hanging out at Jean’s cafe playing pool and pinball, watching football and basketball games, joking about our time playing football at Flintville High under Dickie Boles, etc.
I remember the great visits to Flintville and Fayetteville to stay with Vince, Carol, Melissa, Robby,and Randy after I moved to East Tennesse but came back to “cross those tracks again” as they said back in Flintville. I will never forget their hospitality as it was like staying with family.
Vince visited me several times in Knoxville and Oak Ridge and we had fun then, too. We went to some UT ballgames and out afterwards to have some fun in the revelry that always ensued on a “football Saturday”.
Vince was always spirited and we so many hearty laughs together remembering all the crazy and fun times we had back in Flintville during high school and in Flintville, Fayetteville, and Knoxville/Oak Ridge afterwards. I’ll never forget my friend and best man at my wedding, Mr. Vince Wright. May you rest in peace.

randy and robbie hated to hear about your loss i went to school at flintville high when your dad was there he was a very friendly guy back then he was the same age as my brother-in-law james lancaster who we lost about 13 years ago maybe they can get together and talk of the old school days at flintville high you boys will be in my thoughts and prayers in the day to come GOD bless you boys
