I never was around Richard that I didn’t come away impressed with what he could contribute to a conversation. I would always wish that I had that kind of memory and personality. I so enjoyed those years when Amanda and Michael and my children spent time together. I have missed Richard even before today.
He loved his children and was so proud of them. Rightfully so. May God help you all through this time of suffering and grief.

Richard was a best friend and true pal all through high school at Lincoln County Central High School. We spent many hours together after school just buming around Fayetteville and Lincoln County. Age catches up to all of us, but funny we don’t seem any older in mind or body. I have many fond memories of Richard and his memorable tails of his summers out west in the national park service.
Richard will be sorely missed!

Rich and I met in high school when I was a freshman and he was a senior. Despite the usual seniors don’t befriend freshmen, we became fast friends and to this day I consider him to be the brother I didn’t have. I have many fond memories of his ironic sense of humor and the adventures we had in those years. I knew, and I hope he did also, that even as the years streamed past, we could always count on each other. Luckily I saw him this past september when I visited Fayetteville. That he was taken from us so suddenly is a real tragedy. My deepest condolences go out to Judy, and to Melissa, Michael, and Amanda. We have all lost someone very special.
