A memorial service for Mr. Richard Edward Lane, age 64, of Mulberry, will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Booneville United Methodist Church. Mr. Lane died Friday, May 29, 2015 in a farming accident while searching for a calf. He was the son of the late Frank Green and Nancy Wilkes Lane. Mr. Lane graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Animal Science. He served as a volunteer in the Peace Corp in the Country of Africa. He loved history, reading, fishing, and his family. Mr. Lane was employed by Stewart Farms near Lynchburg.
Mr. Lane is survived by his daughter Megan (Andrew) Ollis; grand-daughters Tessa Marie and Kyliegh Lorraine Ollis; sister Kay (Bill) Askins all of Fayetteville; brother Ray (Anita) Lane of Monterey; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter 1718 Pulaski Hwy, Fayetteville, TN 37334. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to assist the family of Mr. Richard Edward Lane.
