Funeral services for Mrs. Rebecca A. Strope, age 66, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2 PM Monday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Van Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hills Cemetery. Mrs. Strope passed away Friday afternoon, December 26, 2008, at St. Thomas Hospital.
A native of Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Shields A. and Pauline Towry, was a retired insurance agent, and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Robert A. Strope of Fayetteville, sons Sammy Whitworth of Fayetteville and Scott Whitworth of Tampa, FL, grandchildren Brittany Whitworth of Fayetteville and Grace Ann and John Robert Whitworth both of Tampa, FL, step-daughter Jennifer Stanley of Fayetteville, step-son Tony Strope of Meridianville, AL, 7 step-grandchildren, and brothers Burton and Hugh Towry both of Lincoln County. She was preceded by a sister Geraldine Templeton.
Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Sunday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund.
