It is with regret we announce the passing of Ms. Rachel Irene Kimbrough, Age 87, of Flintville, TN. Rachel was born on September 12, 1932, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Allen Clyde and Mildred Irene Kimbrough. She passed away on May 14, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Rachel worked as a secretary for the phone company, Serbin, Elk Valley Home Health, and Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Rachel was an active member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She loved traveling, shopping, and cooking every Sunday. She was a very loving, caring, and giving aunt to all of her nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Survivors include her sister, Julia Kimbrough (the late Chester) Quick; sister in law, Clydia Kimbrough; brother in laws, Jack Simms and H.D. Warren; nieces and nephews, Jimmy (Carla) Kimbrough, David (Robin) Warren, Beverly (the late Mark) Crabtree, Van (Lee) Quick, Martha (the late Danny) Johnson, Max (Sheila) Quick, Deborah Kimbrough, Mark (Brandi) Simms, and Mindy (Joe) Jennings; as well as , many great nieces and nephews; and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by her brother, Sonny Kimbrough; sisters, Josephine (Carl) Groce, Sandra Warren, and Jane Simms; and her soul mate, Bud May.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude, Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will be no public gathering at this time. A private family service will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Bro. Milton Martin officiating. The family invites you to share memories at higginsfh.com.

Rachel was such a good friend to my Mother as well as my Uncle and Aunt (Ray and Stacy Bell). I always found her to be the sweetest person to everyone she met. My sincere condolences to her family.

I know that Rachel will be missed by many but I also know there are several who will be standing with open arms when she enters those Pearly Gates. I loved her and enjoyed visiting when I was growing up. Aunt Rennie was loved by all who knew her.

I enjoyed working with and knowing Miss Rachel. Anytime I saw Rachel , she always greeted me with a hug and kind words. She always ask me about my sister Melinda as well.
