Graveside service for Peggy Gay Sharp, age 81, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Elora Cemetery with Bro. Tim Rice officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until 1 PM on Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home.
Peggy was born December 17, 1940, in Blanche, TN to the late Henry and Nellie Clardy Bryant. Mrs. Sharp was a graduate of Blanche High School and a member of the Liberty Church of Christ. She worked as a seamstress for Colonial, Lee Jeans, and Blue Ridge Shirt Plants. She will be fondly remembered by her family for being devoted to God and her church, reading her bible, cross stitching, and doing word searches. Peggy passed away on July 18, 2022, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Survivors include her sons, Craig Sharp, Barry Sharp, and Wade Sharp and his wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Katrina Dixon, Brandy Edmiston, Dusty Sharp, Blake Sharp, and Haley Sharp; great-grandchildren, Skiya Edmiston, Khiya Edmiston, Cherish Edmiston, Bentley Edmiston, Shayla Dixon, and Morgan Sharp; and siblings, Judy and Robert Gray, Adele Crabtree, Dennis Bryant, Jewell and Lawrence Rowell, Inell Quarles, Willard and Frieda Bryant, Patsy Willis, David and Carol Bryant and Barbara and Bobby Pepper. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William Douglas Sharp, Jr.; brothers, Billy Ray Bryant, Leon Bryant, Marvin Bryant, and Daniel Bryant; and a sister, Brenda Tallman.

Peggy was such an inspiration – especially over the last few years. No matter what she was going through she was always so upbeat, always had a smile. Such strength is so rare. I used to drive away thinking I hope God would help me to have that kind of character in the face of adversity. I hope she knew how much I loved her.
