Paul David Shelton

Funeral service for Paul David Shelton, Sr., age 81, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home, with Bro. Eddie Graves officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until the time of service at Higgins Funeral Home.

Paul was born on October 5, 1942, at home in Lincoln County, TN, to the late George Hamilton Shelton and Mary Jane Pickett Shelton. Mr. Shelton was a 1960 graduate of Central High School and a member of the Vanntown Baptist Church. He worked for United Circuits (formerly Twin Tech). Paul owned and operated Paul Shelton Stable training and riding Harness Racing Horses. He passed away on January 19, 2024, at his residence.

Survivors include his children, Bill (Robin) Shelton, Diane (Rick) Tate, Denise (Wayne) Roland, P.D. (Londa) Shelton; grandchildren, George Shelton, Traci Shelton, Jenni Collins (Trent Brown), Ryan (Candace) Tate, Travis (Julie) Tate, Christi (Matt) Haney, Kelsey (Jeremy) Taylor, Phil (DeWayna) Shelton, Callie (Jordan) Hedges, Jamie Russell (fiancé, Matt Tucker), Kayla (Nick) Sutton, and Logan Hipp; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Wolaver Shelton.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
