A celebration of life for Mrs. Pamela Lee Cox, age 71, of Fayetteville, Tennessee will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home. Mrs. Cox was a native of Milwaukee, WI and daughter of the late Raymond Earl and Diana Gaylen Mitchell. She was an avid reader, loved art, painting, jewelry making and stone work.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her husband of 45 years Gerald Cox; daughter Stephanie (Damann) Balcom; son Daniel Cox, all of Fayetteville; grandchildren Jordan Cox (Fabio) Moser, Katlyn Stewart and Connor Stewart; and a brother Brooks Wilson (Suzanne) Mitchell of Phoenix, AZ.
Visitation with the family will be from 2 pm until time of service on Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Forever her friendship will be with me as a reminder to help others and to be kind with open arms! Forever she be remembered as a mother, a wife, a grandmother and a hard headed woman who fought till the end of her journey! Blessing and prayers to the Cox family! Pam was so sweet and helpful to me on my first day of lapidary class. I will always remember her for this and her beautiful stones. We have missed her in our classes.

Pam had a most delightful sense of humor (and, I’m sure, still does.) We had many laughs together. I’ve known her since she was in high school, and still remember the time after graduation when she exhibited great courage by moving to New York City totally on her own. I was so proud of her.
Later, after she and Jerry were married, she began to use a talent I never knew she had … writing poetry. We have taken those beautiful poems of faith and bound them in a book which we cherish. I’ll try to post one here, hoping it isn’t too long.
Auntie Pam, we love you and look forward to seeing you again.

Another Soul rose to you, Lord
Suffering done
Glory awaiting
Angels greeting
Savior’s open arms.
What a day
Mixed emotions
For those left behind.
Those who loved her
And miss her already.
Mixed emotions
Glad the suffering is done
Glad she is with You –
Yet so difficult for us
As we weep our loss.
It’s like sugar and salt
In the same cup of coffee.

I will always remember my Auntie Pam as a nutty, wonderful, funny lady who always smiled and made people laugh! She was a sweet soul and will surely be missed by many.

It’s been many years since I’ve seen my Auntie Pam, but the memories I have of her are dear to me. She was always fun and so loving. And, best of all she had a wacky sense of humor which I thoroughly enjoyed. I’ll never forget the eggplant she disguised as a beautiful Christmas present one year because she knew how much I hated eggplant. We all had a good laugh after I opened that gift. My heart is so sad to know that she has left this earth, but so happy because she is finally with her King. See you again someday. I love you Auntie Pam.
