Norma Alice Dubuisson Booth of Fayetteville, TN passed away on August 1, 2018 at the age of 87. She is survived by her children, Beverly (Dwight) Lowdermilk of Fayetteville, TN, Angela (Cliff) Huffman of Sewanee, TN, and Allen Booth of Fayetteville, TN; grandchildren, James Philip Booth of Eupora, MS, Daniel Brown of Boston, MA, Zachary Huffman of Busan, South Korea, Robert Brown of Tuscaloosa, AL, Noelle Anderson of Merced, CA and Sam Kellum of Eupora, MS; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Delbert Booth; stepson, James Delbert Booth, Jr. of West Point, MS; daughter, Brenda Booth Brown, of Meridian, MS; sister, Ruth Markline of Meridian, MS; four brothers, Robert Dubuisson of New Orleans, LA, Eugene Dubuisson, Dan Dubuisson, and Louis Dubuisson all of Meridian, MS.
Norma was born on March 11, 1931 in Meridian, MS to Thula Marie and Robert Oliver Dubuisson. She graduated from nursing school in Vicksburg, MS and received the highest score on the State Nursing Boards for that year. She married James Delbert Booth in 1954. They lived in West Point, Starkville, and Meridian Mississippi before moving to Memphis, TN and later Birmingham, AL, where she was a member of Center Point Presbyterian Church. She was a skilled and compassionate nurse and worked in a variety of nursing assignments while in these cities.
Norma made a home in Fayetteville, TN in 2007. For the last three years of her life her home was Southern Manor Living Center where she received loving, tender care for which her family is eternally grateful. Her children remember her as an intelligent, adventuresome, and kind mother who loved reading and spending time in the outdoors, especially when swimming and fishing were involved. She was known for her fearlessness and her dry wit. She always opened her home to relatives, friends, and stray animals.
A memorial service will be held in Meridian, Mississippi on August 25th. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Booth.

Dwight I am so sorry for the loss of Beverly’s Mother. I have not met Beverly or her Mother but when you loose a loved one it is always a sad time no matter what the age. If I can do anything to help you please let me know.

Beverly, Angela and Allen my wife and I are really sorry for your loss. As I’ve already said remember all the wonderful times and keep talking about your mother, while people talk about her she’ll still be with you.

This is a wonderful obituary. It was obvious she was super smart (and this was accompanied by her wit)
, but I was unaware of her accomplishment in the State Nursing
Board exam. I’ll not forget when she caught a 3 lb bass out of my pond. She was so excited.

I grew very close to Norma Jeane 🙂 over the last eight years. I love her and miss her.
