Funeral services for Nina Sue Swinford, age 80, of Franklin will be conducted at 2 PM Monday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Crowe and Bro. Perry Cothran officiating. Burial will follow in Campbell Cemetery beside her husband Charles C. Swinford. Mrs. Swinford passed away Friday afternoon at her residence.
A daughter of the late William Carl and Mary Retta Norman Gulley, she was a native of Lincoln County, spent her life helping the elderly, and was a member of Owens Chapel Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughters Gayle Eakes and husband Leon of Fayetteville and Sherry Anderson and husband Tommy of Franklin, grandchildren Scott Eakes and wife Peggy of Fayetteville, Jamie Dye of Lewisburg, Chris Eakes and wife Robin of Columbia, Gayla Adams and husband Tim of Petersburg, Angie Carson and husband Marty of Burns, TN, and Shawn Jett of Burns, 13 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother George Gulley and sisters Irene Sullivan, Kathleen Pitts, and Opal Mericier.
Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Sunday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.
