Nevin Waidner Niedentohl

Funeral service for Mr. Nevin Waidner Niedentohl, age 102, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted at 1 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home. Rev. Whitney Mitchell will officiate. There will be no burial after the service.

Nevin was born on May 30, 1916 in Baltimore, MD to the late Norman and Helen Niedentohl. Mr. Niedentohl earned a Bachelor’s Degree and was an Accountant and Auditor for Bendix Field Engineering, where he traveled around the world working. He served during WWII in the US Army, and up until the age of 86 was an avid tennis player. Nevin enjoyed bowling, playing poker at the Elks Lodge, and playing bridge. Mr. Niedentohl passed away October 19, 2018 at Whitesburg Gardens in Huntsville, AL.

Survivors include his daughters, Jill (Jim) Brown of Taft, TN, and Wendy (Bill) Knebel of Canton, CT; grandchildren, Amelia Brown, Mark Knebel, Charlotte Brown, and Lindsey Knebel; and special bridge playing friends. Throughout his life, he loved his dogs and cats. In addition to his parents, Mr. Niedentohl was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Adams Niedentohl; son, Ross W. Niedentohl; and a sister, Virginia Siedler.

Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until 1 PM on Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church at 200 Elk Ave N, Fayetteville, TN 37334. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Nevin W. Niedentohl.

Nevin was a kind, generous, thoughtful friend. He was an excellent bridge player. We, his friends, will greatly miss him.
