Funeral services for Mrs. Nelda Joe Dye, age 78, of Taft will be conducted Saturday at 11am at Kirkland Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Langford officiating. Burial will be in Kirkland Cemetery beside her husband Ralph Franklin Dye. Mrs. Dye passed away Tuesday evening in Donalson Care Center. Higgins Funeral Home is in charge of services.
She was a native of Moore County, TN and the daughter of the late William Benjamin and Mary Louella Keith Smith. She was a former employee of Serbin Fashions and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters Kathy Baker and husband Phillip of Fayetteville, Jean Baker and husband Paul of Kelso, two sons Mike Claiborne and wife Lori of Flintville, Lynn Dye and wife Donna of Taft, sister Bobby Powell of Tullahoma, seven grandchildren, David Baker, Shannon Baker and finance Brian Roland, Chris Baker and wife Sara, Jonathan Baker and wife Samatha, Brandy Rogers and husband Mark, Jenna Dye and Clint Dye, 11 great grandchildren and special friend Bob Madison. Mrs. Dye was preceded in death by grandson Deputy Michael Claiborne II and two sisters Ora Ruth Solomon and Betty Glenn Brazier.
Visitation with the family will be Friday night 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home. Mrs. Dye will lie in state at the church from 10am-11am at the Kirkland Baptist Church.
